As made public via Twitter (thanks to @MLBastian, @BlueJays and @TheGarfoose himself), Dirk "The Legend" Hayhurst will be going under the knife for exploratory surgery on his right shoulder.
It's hard enough, for me at least, to learn that a Baseball player's injured and won't be able to pitch for a lengthy period of time. But it's even worse when it's one of the "good" guys.
Dirk appears to feel blessed to have so many "garfooslings", and I'm sure I'm not the only one wishing him a speedy recovery.
Good luck, Dirk! May the Garfoose return sooner than later to munch on the plastic-based grass substitute.
